We serve our congregation and community by loving each other and reaching out with God's Word.
We accomplish this through:
We don't sell a product at Joy Lutheran Church. God's love is free. We are in the business of making disciples (Matthew 28:19). So, what what does a follower (disciple) of Jesus Christ look like at Joy?
These are the marks that we believe ought to be developed in people connected to Joy Lutheran Church:
Compelled by Christ's love and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will become a community of Jesus followers who:
Joy Lutheran formed in November of 2011. We are a congregation in Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). We got started in a living room and have met in a funeral home. Currently, we are blessed to be able to gather at the Billings Seventh Adventist Church campus at 3200 Broadwater.
We gather each Sunday morning at:
Some of our women get together at the conference room at St. John's United Mission Ridge for Bible Study on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9:30am.
Some of our men get together in the dining room at St. John's United Mission Ridge for a time of study and conversation on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 9:00am.
Our prayer team meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 1:30pm to lift up our congregation and community in prayer.
Our choir gets together on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6:00pm. Our choir serves in worship on the 4th Sunday of each month.
Joy Lutheran Church also believes in giving back to the Billings and Yellowstone County community. As part of our ministry, we give 10% of our weekly offerings to different local non-profits and ministries.

We believe the Bible is God's Word for us. The Bible is a book with 66 books written over a period of 1500 years by over 40 human authors. Yet, it holds together as one message that reveals God's love for the world.
We believe the Bible reveals God's work through the centuries, provides encouragement and wisdom for today, while leading us to what waits for us in the future.
Let us know what questions you have about the Bible.
Baptism is an amazing gift that God gives us. God uses plain water and combines it with his powerful Word and Name to give us a new life.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven he said, "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 29:18-20).
Let us know if you would like to be baptized.
Communion is a sacred meal we celebrate each Sunday as we gather for worship. It is meal where Jesus combines his body and blood with bread and wine to give us forgiveness, life, and salvation just as Jesus promises.
We believe that people who are worthy and well prepared to receive this meal are the ones who have faith in these words, "Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins" because the words "for you" require all hearts to believe.
