ABOUT JOY LUTHERAN

Rooted in faith,

rooted in Billings.

Joy Lutheran is a small but mighty faith community in Billings West End

 — a place where ancient faith meets honest, modern life.

OUR MISSION

Rejoice in God's Word,

 Share Christ's Love.

OUR VISION

Compelled by Christ's love and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we want to become a community of Jesus followers who:

  • Are a vibrant, diverse, multigenerational family of Christ.
  • Serve our congregation and the Billings community.
  • Caringly connect with children.
  • Serve our neighbors in Billings and beyond.
  • Have a place of our own to expand these ministries and their impact.

What We Believe

Ancient faith, plain English.

We're a Lutheran church, which means we hold to the historic Christian faith handed down through Scripture and the creeds. Here's what that looks like — minus the jargon.

Grace alone

We can't earn God's love. The good news is — we don't have to. It's a free gift through Jesus.

Faith alone

We trust Jesus, not our own performance. Faith itself is a gift from God, not a thing we manufacture.

Scripture alone

The Bible is our source and standard. We read it together, ask hard questions, and let it shape us.

Christ at the center

Everything we do points to Jesus — his life, death, resurrection, and the hope he gives.

Word and Sacraments

We hear God's word read and preached. We share communion. We remember our baptism. Simple, deep practices.

Community on mission

Faith isn't a solo sport. We grow together, serve together, and welcome anyone who walks through the door.

Our Story

A small church

with a big welcome.

Joy Lutheran has had a steady presence in Billings since November 28, 2011. We've met in a funeral home and a living room. Currently, we are blessed to gather on the Billings Seventh-day Adventist Church campus at 3200 Broadwater.

We're not a megachurch, and we're not trying to be one. What we are is genuinely glad you're here. Our pastor preaches messages you can actually take into Monday morning, our music draws from both old hymnals and new songs, and our lunch is always amazing. We offer a space where neighbors become family and questions are welcome at the table.

If you're spiritually exhausted, just curious, raising kids, or somewhere in between — pull up a chair. There's room for you.

We are a congregation in Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).
